LeeAnn Womack

Last Friday Thomas and the rest of the band were invited to open for LeeAnn Womack at Victoryland. For two weeks Thomas and I could barely sleep due to our extreme excitement! What an honor to open for such a big country name. The T&K Band put on a great show and really got the crowd ready for LeeAnn Womack. Her show was great as well! After LeeAnn's show, Thomas and I were able to have a picture taken with her. It was so much fun!!

Unfortunately, just as the show was beginning, my batteries died in my camera. I had to borrow my mom's but most of the pictures were blurry!

Welcome Baby Ally!!

Last Wednesday, September 2nd, Thomas' brother and his wife welcomed their beautiful baby girl into the world. Thomas and I were at the hospital along with Andrea's family and Thomas' parents. Unfortunately Brooke and Edward were not allowed in the hospital due to the H1N1 virus and did not get to meet her until they came home. Ally Elizabeth Corbitt was born September 2, 2009 at 6:05 p.m. She weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 20 inches long. She is so precious. This is our very first niece and cousin to Brooke and Edward. We are soooo excited about the new addition to the Corbitt family!

*Somehow my pictures are out of order. Brooke got to meet her first cousin on Saturday. The two pictures after Brooke were taken in the hospital the day Ally was born and the rest were from Saturday.

Meet William!

We are so excited that my brother, Will, and his wife, Jacqueline are expecting their first child in February. This sweet little boy will be, William Alfred Hughes, IV. I am so excited that they have decided to carry on with the name. What an honor for this little boy. I can't wait for Edward to have a boy cousin to get dirty with!!! Family gatherings will never be the same!

On another note, we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first niece/cousin any day now. My brother-in-law, John, and his wife, Andrea are about to be first time parents. They are expecting a little girl, Ally Elizabeth. We are so excited and can't wait to meet this sweet girl. Hurry up, Ally!!!! I will be sure to post when she makes her grand debut!

A Day at the River

Last weekend my youngest sister came home from Tuscaloosa for a short break. I took the kids and drove down to Montgomery to spend some time with mom and Hollister. We decided since the weather was perfect, we would go downtown, have lunch and spend the day at the river. We ate lunch at Chris' (a famous hot dog joint) and then headed over to the river. In the last couple of years, the riverfront has been remodeled and is a great place to take kids. They have a small water pad that overlooks the river and the train tracks (Edward's favorite since he seems to be obsessed with trains lately). It was a little cool to be playing in the water, but Brooke and Edward seemed to enjoy it. Edward loved seeing the train and watching the boats.

Biscuits Game

Several weeks ago (the Saturday after Thomas' surgery) we decided we had been cooped up long enough and wanted to get out and do something fun. We had always heard that the Biscuits games were a lot of fun. We invited Thomas' parents to join us. We loaded up and headed to Montgomery. Our first stop was Dreamland. We enjoyed a nice BBQ dinner and then headed across the street to the game. We bought lawn seats because we felt that would be more suitable for Edward since he has difficulty sitting still! We took plenty of chairs, a blanket and lots of trucks! Thomas was still on crutches so he didn't have the pleasure of chasing Edward around the stadium. Pot (Thomas' dad) took Edward to see the train that ran behind the stadium. I believe this is where his love of trains developed. After the game, there was a fireworks show. This was Edward's first time seeing fireworks and I believed he was amazed.

How do you say...

...banana? First, please excuse the laundry in the background. I took a little break to read a book to Edward. In this book is a picture of a banana. We get so tickled to hear Edward say "banana" that we had to record it. Enjoy!!!!

First day of 7th grade!!

Monday was Brooke's first day of 7th grade! She loved it!! Last year she decided that she wanted to be in the band this year as her exploratory (I think that is the same as a Fine Art). She was assigned the Clarinet and our house is already filled with the sounds noises of a beginner Clarinet player! This is her second and last year in Middle School. It is going to be a fun experience.
